While you might not see a lot of grass and lawns here in Yellowknife as compare to cities down south, those home owners that do have flat lands or even where you can dump soil amongst the rocky tundra here do take full advantage and plant a lawn.

Life as a child is sweet and I believe that every kid should experience running around on a lawn barefooted through a sprinkler. I did and I'm sure this brings sweet memories back to you too.

As I had stated before, Yellowknife has two seasons only, a short sweet summer and the rest is cold hard winter. Well we do experience the four season, but they are all too short it seems.

I found the following sign at our local dump too funny as we have more winter then summer, spring and fall it seems here in the far north.

While the City of Yellowknife has been making great strides over the past few years to landscape the boulevard with lawn and trees you often see summer students out conducting maintenance amongst the city sections. As I had mentioned before, we do things differently here in the north, for example, just look at how our water flows from our garden hoses.
